With the loss, Tennessee moves to 38-89 in their all-time series against the Tigers including a 19-51 mark in games played in Auburn, Ala.
Just one game after outhitting Auburn 17-11 en route to a 13-4 series opener win, the Volunteers recorded two base knocks against Auburn starter Justin Camp, contributed by senior Chris Hall (1-for-4) and junior Max Bartlett (1-for-3).
The top of Auburn's order jumped out in the first inning and plated two runs on three hits against
Tennessee starter Zach Warren and the Vols.
After the first inning, Tigers starter Camp went on face the minimum against the Vols order in eighth straight frames, interrupted up by a bunt single by UT shortstop Bartlett in the fifth before he was caught stealing second base.
Warren tossed 5.0 innings against Auburn, allowing two runs on five hits with allowing a season-high four walks and seven strikeouts. With the loss, Warren moves to 4-4 over nine starts in his sophomore campaign.
Junior Hunter Martin entered the game in the bottom of the sixth and went on to throw 3.0 scoreless innings in relief, holding the Tigers at their two-run advantage throught the eighth inning.
