Join us on a 45-minute walking tour of the K.R. Harrington Water Treatment Plant and see how Metro Water Services provides over 200,000 customers with clean, safe drinking water every day. During the walking tour of the treatment plant, you will learn about drinking water treatment processes and what Metro Water Services is doing to stay ahead of the curve as Nashville grows.

Please note:

• Registration is REQUIRED.
• Tours are for adults, 18+ years and older. Please contact the organizer to schedule a tour for school-aged children.
• Tours are rain or shine.

By registering for this tour, you agree to comply with the following tour policies:

• For security reasons, we DO NOT permit photos inside of the facility gates or on the tour at any time.
• Cell phones and bags must remain in personal vehicles during the tour.
• For safety reasons, we require you to wear closed, flat shoes on the tour.

FAQs

What time do I need to arrive for the tour?
You will need to check in with the security guard at the main gate no later than 10 minutes before the start time of the tour. Due to the tight schedule, we cannot allow anyone to join the tour late.

What are the driving directions to the facility?
K.R. Harrington Water Treatment Plant is located at 3181 Heartland Drive in Donelson.

Please note: GPS directions are unreliable for this address. The correct directions are:
From McGavock Pike at McGavock High School, turn on to Fernbrook Lane and follow it through the neighborhood. Fernbrook Lane will take you down a long hill and will dead end into Heartland Drive. Take a left onto Heartland Drive and follow it to the facility guard gate.

What are my parking options?
Parking is available in a secure lot at the facility.

What is the distance of the walking tour? How many stairs will I need to climb?
The walking tour is less than 1/5 of a mile long. While the walking tour is on sidewalks and inside the building, there is the option at one point during the tour to walk up and down eight stairs, some composed of gratings. If you need accomodations, please contact julie.berbiglia@nashville.gov

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please bring your printed ticket or have your ticket available on your phone to show the security guard.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Registration is not transferable. The name on the ticket must match the photo ID of the person attending the tour.
