MADDIE COMES FACE TO FACE WITH THE HARSH REALITY OF ADDICTION ON A NEW EPISODE

The residents of Springtime Meadows are getting fed up with Maddie’s apathy toward sobriety, which leads Cynthia to suggest Maddie take part in an eye-opening field trip on an all-new episode of “Recovery Road,” airing tonight, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8 (9:00 – 10:00 p.m. EST) on Freeform.

Wes is thrown when he gets a distraught phone call from his ex-girlfriend Harper (guest star Aubrey
Peeples, “Nashville”) begging him to help her. Thinking this may be an opportunity for Maddie to finally realize the dangers of addiction, Cynthia suggests Wes and Craig take Maddie along to help get Harper back into rehab. But Maddie is not prepared for what she witnesses. Meanwhile, after visiting Springtime Meadows, Charlotte can’t help but wonder if she’s made the right choice sending her daughter there. And Trish auditions for a reality show, thinking fame might help her get her daughter back. Flashbacks show Wes and Harper’s descent into addiction.

The episode, titled “Surrender,” was written by Patricia Resnick and directed by Michael Schultz.

Based on the popular young adult novel by Blake Nelson, “Recovery Road” stars Jessica Sula (“Skins”), Sebastian de Souza (“The Borgias”), Sharon Leal (“Dreamgirls”), Alexis Carra (“Mixology”), Kyla Pratt (“Dr. Doolittle”), Daniel Franzese (“Mean Girls”), and David Witts (“EastEnders”). Bert V. Royal (“Easy A”) and Karen DiConcetto (“Ruby & The Rockits”) are executive producers, alongside Holly Sorenson (“Make It or Break It”), Danielle VonZerneck (“Left to Die”), and Craig Piligian (“Abducted: The Carlina White Story”), and Beth Miller (“Revenge of the Bridesmaids”) from Pilgrim Studios.
